Descrizione:Fenoterol is a bronchodilator that is used to treat asthma. It has been shown to inhibit the contractility of the papillary muscle and cause relaxation of the airways by acting on beta-adrenergic receptors in the bronchial smooth muscle. Fenoterol is an experimental drug that may have a role in treating congestive heart failure. In a model system using dextran sulfate, fenoterol was found to inhibit polymerase chain reaction (PCR) activity, which is important for DNA replication and repair. The cardiac effects of fenoterol are attributed to its ability to inhibit PCRs and thereby prevent DNA replication. The efficacy of this drug has been demonstrated in an animal study using untreated rats as a control group.
