Descrizione:Fenthoxon sulfone is a pesticide that belongs to the group of organophosphorus insecticides. It is an inhibitor of cholinesterase, which prevents acetylcholine from breaking down. Fenthoxon sulfone is used to control pests in grains, sugar cane, and cotton crops. The dry weight of fenthoxon sulfone has been shown to be around 1020 g/mol. Fenthoxon sulfone has a high activation energy (around 13.2 kcal/mol) and reacts with water molecules to form hydrolysis products such as oxo-fenthion and fenthion alcohols. Matrix effect can also affect the results obtained by UHPLC analysis, requiring an analytical method that can compensate for this effect. The toxicity of fenthoxon sulfone is assessed using enzyme catalysis experiments and studies on chromatographic methods for oxidation products.
