Descrizione:5-Fluoroisatin is a molecule that belongs to the class of pharmaceutical preparations. It has been shown to have antiviral activity against a number of viruses, including herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), varicella zoster virus (VZV), and vaccinia virus (VAC). The metastable form of 5-fluoroisatin may be due to its amine group or its ability to form stable complexes. 5-Fluoroisatin has also been shown to inhibit growth factor induced protein synthesis in human cervical cancer cells. This agent has pharmacokinetic properties that are similar to those of other fluoroquinolones. 5-Fluoroisatin is a potential anticancer agent because it inhibits the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins and induces apoptosis in cancer cells.
