Descrizione:Fluphenazine sulfoxide is a piperazine derivative that is an antipsychotic drug. It has been used in the treatment of chronic schizophrenia, acute exacerbation of psychotic symptoms, and for patients who are unresponsive to other antipsychotics. Fluphenazine sulfoxide is metabolized by glucuronidation and then excreted in the urine as a conjugate with glucuronic acid. This drug has pharmacokinetic properties that are similar to those of other antipsychotics, such as a half-life of about 12 hours and no active metabolites. Fluphenazine sulfoxide has shown clinical efficacy in the treatment of chronic schizophrenia, with few adverse effects. The long-term use of this drug has not been well studied, but it appears to have a good safety profile.
