Ferrocenecarboxaldehyde is a fatty acid with a ferrocene carboxylic acid group. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi, and yeast when it was mixed with nitric acid. Ferrocenecarboxaldehyde can be synthesized by reacting ferrocene with glycerol in the presence of sulfuric acid.
