3-Fluoro-4-methoxybenzyl bromide is a fluorine-containing compound that can be used to modify histone proteins. It is an analog of 3-bromo-4-fluorobenzonitrile, which has been shown to regulate the chromodomain and inactivate the transcriptional activity of cancer cells. This analog may also regulate histone methylation, thereby inhibiting the function of cancer cells by modifying the structure of their DNA. 3-Fluoro-4-methoxybenzyl bromide interacts with histone proteins through a covalent bond and can be used to inhibit tumor growth by targeting chromatin remodeling enzymes.
