Descrizione:3-(3-Fluoro-phenyl)-propionic acid is a glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β) inhibitor that binds to the ATP binding site of the enzyme. 3-(3-Fluoro-phenyl)-propionic acid has been shown to inhibit GSK-3β activity in vitro and in vivo, and it has been used for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The inhibition of GSK-3β by 3-(3-Fluoro-phenyl)-propionic acid leads to increased phosphorylation of glycogen synthase, which leads to an increase in glycogen synthesis. This drug also inhibits the production of amyloid beta protein, which is involved in Alzheimer's disease pathology.
