• Descrizione: Fluorescent Brightener 28 is a fluorescent dye that is used in the textile industry for staining and as a biological marker. It binds to the cell nuclei, which can be seen under ultraviolet light. Fluorescent Brightener 28 has been shown to have synergistic effects when combined with other dyes such as 4'6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) and Thiazole orange. This dye is also used in diagnosis of opportunistic fungal infections, such as C. glabrata, by using flow cytometry or microscopy techniques. Fluorescent Brightener 28 has also been shown to inhibit the growth of wild-type strains of yeast, but not mutants resistant to this compound.
