Descrizione

Fluthiacet-methyl is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial that inhibits a wide range of bacteria, fungi, and parasites. The drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of animal cells in culture and actin filaments. It also inhibits β-lactamase enzymes that are responsible for the degradation of penicillins and cephalosporins. Fluthiacet-methyl is used to treat metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus type 2, which may be due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid synthase. Fluthiacet-methyl also has an effect on membrane systems by inhibiting the biosynthesis of phospholipids, sphingolipids, and cholesterol, which can lead to cell death.
