2-Fluoropyridine-4-boronic acid is a molecule used in the synthesis of potent antagonists for nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. It is a potent antagonist that binds to the adenosine receptor subtypes A1 and A2A. 2-Fluoropyridine-4-boronic acid has been shown to inhibit the uptake of radioactive molecules in rat brain synaptosomes, which may be due to its ability to bind with low energy. 2-Fluoropyridine-4-boronic acid has also been shown to inhibit leishmania parasites by binding with high affinity to pim-1, an enzyme involved in parasite development.
