Descrizione:2-(4-Fluorophenyl)ethanol is a piperidine compound that binds to the 5-HT receptor subtypes. It has been shown to induce activation of these receptors by binding to them, which may be related to its anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects. 2-(4-Fluorophenyl)ethanol has been shown to be a potent 5-HT2A receptor antagonist, with high affinity for this receptor. The compound also has properties of being a good ligand for molecular imaging and it is selective for 5-HT2A receptors over other serotonin receptors. 2-(4-Fluorophenyl)ethanol can cause necrosis in cells due to its ability to activate the receptor TRPM8, which causes increased intracellular calcium levels. This drug also has an effect on chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells through the inhibition of protein synthesis and induction of apoptosis.
