Descrizione:2-Fluoro-6-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl alcohol is a 6-methyluracil derivative that may be used as a target product. It is synthesized by reacting 2-fluoro-6-(trifluoromethyl)benzaldehyde with lithium nitrite in an acidic condition. This compound may also be used as an initiator for the synthesis of polysubstituted benzaldehydes, which are nontoxic. The reaction mechanism of this compound is not yet known.
