• Descrizione: Gentian violet is a dye that has potent anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic properties. It inhibits the activity of some bacterial enzymes and the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein. Gentian violet can be used for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by bacterial strains such as C. glabrata and E. coli. This drug is not active against fungi or viruses, but it does have a strong adsorption ability that can be used in wastewater treatment to remove organic matter from water. Gentian violet is not mutagenic or carcinogenic in humans or animals at doses up to 10 times the therapeutic dose.
