Descrizione

6-Gingerol is a natural compound that belongs to the family of gingerols. It has been shown in a model system to inhibit the development of infectious diseases and to have anti-inflammatory properties. 6-Gingerol also has electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) properties that are similar to those reported for other active inhibitors, such as anthraquinones from the bark of the South American tree Quina. This compound binds to DNA and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to apoptosis. In addition, it has been shown to bind response elements in cells and inhibits dna binding activity, which may be important for its biological activity. 6-Gingerol is effective against oral pathogens but not against bacteria on skin surfaces.
