Descrizione

Ginkgolide C is a natural compound that inhibits the activity of p-glycoprotein. It has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of proinflammatory mediators in human monocytes and macrophages, such as matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) activity and cytokine release. Ginkgolide C also inhibits the expression of chemokines and adhesion molecules on endothelial cells, which may be due to its inhibition of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) activation. Ginkgolide C is an inhibitor of the MMPs that are involved in extracellular matrix degradation, including collagenases, gelatinases, stromelysins and other enzymes. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of ryanodine receptors in rat myocardium cells by binding to them.
