Gibberellic acid A4 is a protein that regulates the metabolism of plants. It works by binding to DNA and regulating the transcription of genes involved in fatty acid synthesis. Gibberellic acid A4 also binds to monoclonal antibodies, which are used in clinical applications for diagnostic purposes. Gibberellic acid A4 has been shown to have low expression levels and is up-regulated in mouse cells when exposed to light. The physiological effects of this protein are not well understood, but it may play a role in energy metabolism or polymerase chain reactions.
