Descrizione:Gallamine triethiodide is a low-potency, pharmacological agent. It has been shown to antagonize the action of acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors in vitro and in whole-cell recordings from mammalian cells. Gallamine triethiodide also inhibits the release of cytosolic Ca2+ by acting on presynaptic nerve endings and it can be used as an adjuvant therapy in autoimmune diseases and infectious diseases. The drug has been shown to be effective against sodium citrate induced convulsions in rats and sublethal doses have no effect on cardiac or brain functions.
