Descrizione:Glisoxepid is a drug that belongs to the class of anti-diabetic agents and is used for the treatment of type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus. Glisoxepid is an ATP-sensitive potassium channel opener that has been shown to delay gastric emptying and reduce postprandial hyperglycemia. It also inhibits the activity of dipeptidyl peptidase IV, which can lead to increased insulin secretion. Glisoxepid has been shown to have a positive effect on congestive heart failure, coronary heart disease, and metabolic disorders in human subjects. It also has antiviral effects against HIV infection and Ebola virus by inhibiting the synthesis of viral proteins and interfering with their incorporation into virions.
