Descrizione:Genipin-1-b-D-gentiobioside is a chemoattractant protein that binds to the G protein coupled receptor. It has been shown to increase blood flow and reduce heart rate in rats. Genipin-1-b-D-gentiobioside has also been shown to be neuroprotective, as it reduces brain damage caused by ischemia. The protein also inhibits the production of TNF-α, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the transcription and polymerase chain reaction of this cytokine. Genipin-1-b-D-gentiobioside also has antiangiogenic effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit energy metabolism and fatty acid synthesis, or deacetylation of asperulosidic acid. This compound has been shown to have protective effects on diabetic neuropathy and atherosclerosis.
