2-Hydroxynaringenin is a polyphenolic compound that is found in plants. It inhibits the enzyme flavonol synthase and has been shown to inhibit the activity of other enzymes involved in plant metabolism. 2-Hydroxynaringenin has also been shown to have anti-parasitic effects on parasitic plants as well as inhibiting protocatechuic acid production, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cytochrome P450 enzymes. This compound also has an effect on plant natural products, such as flavones and lignans.
