Descrizione:HMN-214 is a novel oral prodrug that is being developed as a single agent therapy for the treatment of cancer. HMN-214 is a prodrug of the natural product dihydromyricetin, which inhibits mitochondrial complex I and II. HMN-214 has shown potent antitumor activity in tumor xenografts and demonstrated safety profile in vivo. The drug also induces cancer cell death via a mechanism that involves inhibition of kinase domain phosphorylation, leading to apoptosis induction. HMN-214 has been tested in vitro and in vivo for pharmacokinetics and gene expression profiling with promising results.
