Descrizione:(Z)-N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)docos-13-enamide is a hepatoprotective agent that can be used to treat fatty liver disease. It has been shown to inhibit the expansion of fat droplets in hamsters and mice with hyperlipidemia. This drug also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. (Z)-N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)docos-13-enamide is an amide with a viscosity similar to water. It is soluble in water and alcohols but insoluble in acetone, ether, and chloroform. The solubility of this drug depends on the temperature; it is more soluble at higher temperatures. The addition of methacrylates such as methyl methacrylate or ethyl methacrylate increases solubility and reduces viscosity at higher temperatures.
