Descrizione:2-Hydroxy oleic acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that is found in the natural oil from animals and plants. It has been used as a treatment for pediatric glioma patients, with minimal toxicity and all-trans retinoic acid. This drug induces autophagy, which is the process of breaking down damaged cellular components in order to recycle them or to generate energy. 2-Hydroxy oleic acid also causes apoptosis of cancer cells through the mitochondrial membrane potential pathway. 2-Hydroxy oleic acid inhibits lipid synthesis by inhibiting acyl coenzyme A synthetase and acetyl CoA carboxylase, which are enzymes involved in fat production.
