Descrizione:Haloxyfop-methyl is a phenoxy herbicide that is used to control broadleaf weeds in crops. It binds to the fatty acid portion of membrane lipids, and this interaction inhibits the transport rate of ions across the lipid bilayer. This inhibition leads to an increase in membrane permeability and cellular death. Haloxyfop-methyl has been shown to have specific treatment effects on cancer tissues, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of growth factors such as platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF). Haloxyfop-methyl is also a chemical pesticide that can cause psychotic disorders. The mechanism for this effect is unknown, but logistic regression analysis has shown that it may be related to the terminal residues from its metabolism by cytochrome P450 enzymes.
