Descrizione:Cis-3-Hexen-1-ol is a natural compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of oral pathogens. It is an inhibitor of fatty acid synthase, which catalyzes the conversion of acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA to 3-hydroxyacyl CoA and 3-ketoacyl CoA. The enzyme has been shown to be inhibited by cis-3-hexenal, cis-3-hexenoic acid, and cis-3 hexenol. Cis hexenol has also been shown to inhibit the transcriptional regulation of bacterial genes by binding to DNA in vitro. Cis hexenol has been found to have low toxicity in vivo and in vitro studies, although more studies are needed for confirmation.
