Descrizione

Hydroxyprogesterone caproate is a progesterone that is used in hormone replacement therapy. It has been shown to be effective against solid tumours, including carcinoma cell lines, and blood sampling. Hydroxyprogesterone caproate also has an anti-estrogen activity and can be used as a long-term adjuvant treatment for breast cancer. This drug binds to the estrogen receptor and inhibits the action of estradiol benzoate, which may cause the development of breast cancer.
Hydroxyprogesterone caproate also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. The drug is administered at physiological levels and acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the gastrointestinal tract.
