The compound also inhibits proinflammatory cytokine production by human monocytes and macrophages, which may be due to its hydroxyl group that can form hydrogen bonds with nucleophilic centers on proteins.3-Hydroxy-4-methoxybenzoic acid can be prepared through extraction from acetate (1g) containing pyridine (2mL) and acetone (2mL).
