N-Hydroxybenzenesulfonamide (NHS) is a reactive, hydroxyl group containing molecule that reacts with other molecules to form new compounds. NHS has been shown to be cytotoxic and cardiotoxic in PC12 cells. It has also been shown to induce cardiac hypertrophy and ischemia reperfusion injury in rats. N-Hydroxybenzenesulfonamide has also been shown to inhibit tumor growth by affecting the biological properties of the molecule.
