Descrizione:4-Benzoyloxy-tempo is a hydrophobic drug that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It is an inhibitor of amyloid-β (Aβ) aggregation and disaggregation, which are the main features of this disease. 4-Benzoyloxy-tempo binds to Aβ through hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions to form micelles that are then removed from the brain. The hydrophobic nature of 4-benzoyloxy-tempo allows it to penetrate into cells by passive diffusion, and its lipophilic properties make it resistant to degradation by plasma esterases. 4-Benzoyloxy-tempo has also been shown to inhibit cholesterol synthesis, which may lead to decreased cholesterol levels in the blood.
