8-Hydroxy-7-methoxycoumarin is a bioactive compound that belongs to the family of medicines. It has been shown to have anticancer, immunomodulatory and chemical diversity properties in animal experiments. 8-Hydroxy-7-methoxycoumarin also has inhibitory effects on cancer cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis and protein synthesis. 8-Hydroxy-7-methoxycoumarin can be used as an antiinflammatory agent with an orally effective dose of 15 mg/kg in rats. It is also found in many plant families such as Apiaceae, Lamiaceae, and Rutaceae. 8-Hydroxy-7-methoxycoumarin is an open chain molecule that has two aromatic rings connected by a methoxy group.
