4-Hydroxy-4'-methoxychalcone is a flavonoid that can be found in plants, fruits and vegetables. It has been shown to have anti-malarial activity and low bioavailability in humans. 4-Hydroxy-4'-methoxychalcone has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by binding to DNA and inhibiting the synthesis of proteins. 4-Hydroxy-4'-methoxychalcone also has antibacterial properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis.
