Descrizione

2'-Hydroxychalcone is a fluorescent probe that has been shown to be effective in the detection of amines. It can be used as a cell factor to measure mitochondrial membrane potential by measuring the intramolecular hydrogen transfer from the hydroxyl group on 2-hydroxychalcone to an amine. The fluorescence intensity of 2'-hydroxychalcone increases with increasing mitochondrial membrane potential, which can be measured using a fluorimeter. This probe also reacts with proteins and fatty acids, leading to increased fluorescence intensity. 2'-Hydroxychalcone has biological activities that are similar to those of tnf-α (tumour necrosis factor alpha).
