Descrizione

Beta-hederin is a natural compound that shows significant cytotoxicity and antiinflammatory activity. It also has been shown to have antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancer properties. Beta-hederin has been found to inhibit the mitochondrial membrane potential and induce apoptosis in HL-60 cells. This compound also inhibits the activities of the protein polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and DNA topoisomerase I, which are important enzymes involved in DNA replication. Beta-hederin may be a potential anticancer agent because it induces apoptosis by suppressing mitochondrial functions.
