Isolevoglucosenone is a disaccharide molecule that can be used as a sugar-based hybridization agent. It has been shown to selectively bind to the surface glycoprotein of mammalian cells and inhibit their growth. Isolevoglucosenone also has the ability to form conjugates with phosphites, carbonyls, and other molecules that are effective in inhibiting enzymatic activity. The effective dose for Isolevoglucosenone is between 50 and 100 μM.
