Isorhamnetin is a flavonoid that has been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-10 and TNF-α, by human monocytes and macrophages. It also inhibits the activity of MMP-9, an enzyme involved in the degradation of collagen. In addition, it has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects on squamous carcinoma cells. Isorhamnetin also has natural antioxidant properties and can be used as a fluorescence probe for DNA hybridization.
