Descrizione:Isochroman-1-one is a natural compound that is found in copper chloride acetate extracts of plants. It has been shown to have inhibitory effects on the growth of endophytes and on the fatty acid metabolism of plants. Isochroman-1-one also has antimicrobial activity against human serum and cervical cancer cells. It inhibits the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) such as MMP-9, which are enzymes that degrade extracellular matrix proteins in the body. Isochroman-1-one is synthesized from etoac extract, which is obtained from a plant called Eucalyptus tereticornis. The synthesis involves an asymmetric process with a hydroxyl group as one of the reagents.
