Isobavachalcone also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species and increase the expression of nuclear DNA binding protein DDB2. Isobavachalcone can be used as an analytical tool for determining mitochondrial membrane potential and for identifying compounds with autophagic activity.
