Descrizione

Lidorestat is a naturally occurring compound with potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes involved in the inflammatory response and protect against oxidative stress in animal models. Lidorestat also demonstrates efficacy in treating diabetic neuropathy, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species or increase cellular levels of glutathione, an important antioxidant. Lidorestat is poorly absorbed and has a low bioavailability, which may be due to ester linkages or hydroxyl groups on its structure. This makes it a good candidate for drug development as it can serve as a lead molecule in the search for improved drugs targeting inflammatory bowel disease or diabetes.
