Descrizione:Substance P is a tachykinin neuropeptide that belongs to the tachykinin family. It is found in the central and peripheral nervous system and has been shown to have an important role in locomotor activity, protein synthesis, receptor activity, and neurotransmitter release. Substance P is also associated with a number of diseases such as infectious diseases, sciatic nerve pain, and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) production. This substance has been used for the diagnosis of neurogenic bladder dysfunction by measuring its effects on urinary bladder contractility.
