• Descrizione: The drug, 2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-6-phenylimidazo[2,1-b]thiazole (TEM), is a small molecule with potent immunomodulatory properties. TEM is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme histamine N-methyltransferase and inhibits the synthesis of histamine and other proinflammatory mediators. It also has anthelmintic activity against nematodes and exhibits anti-inflammatory activities in animal models of autoimmune diseases such as lupus erythematosus and inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis. TEM is also a potent inhibitor of lymphocyte transformation. This drug can be used for the treatment of chronic viral hepatitis, which is caused by hepatitis B or C virus infections.
