Lithium diethylamide reacts with sodium salts to produce lithium salts, which are activated. The compound has been used in the treatment of pancreatitis and infectious diseases such as dyslipoproteinemia (a condition characterized by abnormally high levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood).
