Descrizione:(+)-Lyoniresinol is a natural product with the (R) configuration. It is an enantiomer of (+)-lyoniresinol, which is a phytochemical found in plants such as soybean and cimicifuga foetida. (+)-Lyoniresinol inhibits the growth of bacteria by damaging their cell membranes and inhibiting fatty acid synthesis. This compound also has anti-oxidative effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation. The chemical structure of (+)-Lyoniresinol consists of a benzene ring with two double bonds and one single bond. Preparative high performance liquid chromatography (prep-HPLC) can be used to purify this substance from acetate extract of soybean or cimicifuga foetida.
