6-Methylpyridazine-3[2H]-one is a heterocyclic organic compound with the chemical formula C6H4N4. It is an isomer of pyridazine. The tautomeric form of 6-methylpyridazine-3[2H]-one is 2,6-dimethylpyridine. Pairwise, it has a dihedral angle of 180 degrees, and a carboxy group in the molecule's backbone. This compound is also classified as a carboxyalkyl because it contains one or more hydroxyl groups attached to a carbonyl carbon atom. It can be found in nature as a metabolite of levulinate and as an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds that contain the same double bond.
