Informazioni sul prodotto
- 6-Amino-2-naphthoic Acid Methyl Ester
- 2-Naphthalenecarboxylic Acid, 6-Amino-, Methyl Ester
Methyl 6-Amino-2-naphthoate is a structural isomer of the more well-known anticancer agent, methotrexate. It binds to the DNA in cancer cells and inhibits the synthesis of RNA and protein, leading to cell death. It also has antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. Methyl 6-Amino-2-naphthoate has been shown to be effective in treating osteosarcoma in animal models. This compound is an intercalator that can form complexes with metal ions. It also forms macrocyclic complexes with hydrazones derived from aromatic aldehydes such as naphthalene or dichlorotriphenylphosphorane.
