Informazioni sul prodotto
7-Methyl-6-azaindole is an optical isomer of 6-methyl-6-azaindole, which is used as a starting material for the synthesis of other compounds. The 7-isomer has a lower yield than the 6-isomer and requires heating to obtain it. It can be converted to harmaline by alkylation with methyl iodide and dimethylformamide in tobacco smoke. Harmaline is then modified by conversion to dimethyltryptamine (DMT) with nitrous acid. As a result, the 7-isomer will produce artifacts during some reactions such as storage or when heated at high temperatures. This compound also has a high melting point and a pyridine ring.
