N-Methyl mesoporphyrin IX has been shown to inhibit cancer cells in humans and can be used as an adjunct treatment for cancer. N-Methyl mesoporphyrin IX has been shown to have an effect on plant physiology by inhibiting plant growth and photosynthesis.
