2-Methyl-1-butene is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of aliphatic hydrocarbons. It has a kinetic constant of 0.27 and a microvessel density of 2.6x10^6/mm^3. 2-Methyl-1-butene undergoes crosslinking reactions with proteins, nucleic acids, and carbohydrates by means of nucleophilic attack or transfer reactions. It is also used as a reactive chemical in the synthesis of polymers, plastics, resins, and other organic compounds. 2-Methyl-1-butene is an activator for growth factor receptors and can be used in the treatment of cancer cells that have become resistant to chemotherapy drugs such as doxorubicin or vincristine. This reaction mechanism occurs through the inhibition of protein synthesis by blocking RNA polymerase II activity at transcriptional initiation sites on DNA strands.
