4-Methyl-3-cyclohexen-1-one is a chemical compound that can be synthesized from cyclohexene. It is used in the production of other chemicals, such as cellulose acetate and glyoxal. This chemical has been reported to have an interaction with chlorine, which may lead to the formation of chlorinated oxidation products. 4-Methyl-3-cyclohexen-1-one is also catalyzed by sodium sulfide, which leads to the formation of chloride and sodium sulfide.
