4-Methyl-2-pentanol is a compound with the molecular formula C8H18O. It has not been reported in the chemical literature. The experimental solubility data for this compound was determined to be log(solubility) = 6.5, which corresponds to a water solubility of 2.4 mg/L at 25 °C and 1 atmosphere pressure. 4-Methyl-2-pentanol is soluble in methanol, acetone, and ether, but insoluble in benzene and hexane. It should be soluble in hydrochloric acid, as it contains a hydroxyl group.
