Methylenecyclopentane is an anti-viral agent that may be active against the herpes simplex virus. It binds to the enzyme thymidine kinase in the virus's DNA, which prevents it from replicating its DNA. This drug also inhibits neutrophil function and is an anti-inflammatory agent.
